(Still) Under Construction

I just wrote an incoherent randomly-trudging post about still being in that hungover zone. That I have a mild mild case of Hangover Losers. That my head and body are still under construction. Everything continues to be a little slow, to require simplicity and explanations, which I still do not even hear. My exhaustion levels are still revving up into the overload section. And then I explain which other blogs right now might be better to move along and read.

I especially recommended clicking onwards to the fascinating debates, arguments, and insights (this is blogging after all!) being posted around the 2007 SA Blog Awards.

I voiced my greatest concerns about the whole process... How free will the champagne offered at the Awards night be?? And as a finalist does this automatically invite me to the night, or is there another round and SURELY if there is another round that I make it through then SURELY the champagne should be free!??

And then I finally caught up on my emails and read the Sokwanele mail that had arrived in my inbox. And I just felt this hurt again.

FUCK YOU MUGABE!!

FUCK YOU MBEKI!! For not daring to use your powerful position to attempt to save the lives of innocent Zimbabwean people. You and your lack of spine or stubbornness or whatever unforgiving reason it is now that keeps you quiet and afraid.

I do not think I will yet be able to watch the video. The photos on Sokwanele’s blog struck hard enough, while I feel incapable of helping the neighbouring country in anyway.

“Please can you tell your readers - again, we especially ask this of our African friends - about SW Radio Africa and how they can tune in and listen to news from Zimbabwe.

Ja ja. Some people gym hangovers out of them. Others try to ignore thoughts, exhaustion and fears until they are kosher again. Some just weep & weep inexplicably. And me, generally I get over the Hangover Losers by directing my anger or confusion (and right now I am quite confused about some recent happenings) away from crazy situations that occurred on a drunk weekend, by concentrating on a crazier, more inebriated, world.

Shame Champs, I feel for you babe. You need time out, early nights and lots of water for the next few days. Mixture of hangover and Monday/Tuesday blues I think. Take 1 Sushi platter,1 couch,1 sex and the city dvd tonight before bed and call me in the morning.

Rev, right now it is that exhausted state where I might rather be the blubbering fool in the corner asking, "But why???" continuously, until all the other person can answer, "That is just how life is".

DaveRich - I am thinking Cranks's meals actually, but the rest seems pretty pefect!

Thanks my Jamaloni. Hug back.

Thanks mon petit chou.

DaveRich - it also ploughs me with free starters, free shooters, and even once a free meal to take home with me. And the owner has reprimanded me for going there so much that how will he ever be able to retire.... so I am kinda biased.

You've obviously never been to Soi when I am there... Good on Eric, I worked next door a long time ago and we used to swap meals. He is a cool guy. Not too long left.

Yes this silence angers me too...makes us complicit in what's happening.

You sound like you're a drunk irishman underneath all that. I did drive past the Jolly that night, so it is possible I saw you! But if you say you threw your name away, I'm just gonna have to believe you.

Ohgod, that read left me with cold shivers. I'm generally not one to wish death on anyone, but when is Mugabe gonna die?
